New software will optimise freight operations
Logistics operator P&O Ferrymasters has new software to help improve its transport planning.
Quintiq Freight Forwarding and Transport Planning Solution will enable P&O Ferrymasters’ intermodal division to plan the most cost-effective routes for moving cargo, using trains, trucks and ferries.
The fleet assets division can optimise the use of road trailers and coil-carriers, while the freight management divison’s planners will use it for combining trips, determining the cost-effectiveness of contracts with sub contractors and expanding the breadth of service offerings.
