New Teesside training company Learning in Logistics (LiL) is teaming up with North-east UK councils to offer logistics training in areas such as driving skills and fuel efficiency.
The company is the prime partner of Hartlepool College of Further Education for the delivery of Driver Continuous Professional Competency (CPC) periodic training, and is offering HGV drivers the opportunity to achieve the CPC qualification.
It is also partnered with local councils in the Tees Valley region, as well as a number of local companies in the transport industry.
LiL, part of Nicholson Group, hopes to reach out to over 82,000 people in the area who operate commercial vehicles.
LiL MD John Craig said: “The vast majority of businesses in this sector are very small, so they don’t necessarily know what to look for when recruiting drivers.
“We are providing that service by helping employers to deliver the correct training and to implement procedures for recruiting suitably-qualified drivers.
“We also offer operations training to give office-based staff awareness of the legislation around the carriage of dangerous goods and what documentation they need.”
