Sealandair Transport, a pioneer of groupage trucks to and from Greece, has closed after more than half a century.
The company, which began by specialising in the rapid re-supply of Greek-owned vessels via ships stores services, suffered severe losses in 2009.
A spokesman said recently rates had rapidly declined, undercut by foreign truckers, and the state of the Greek economy and ongoing strikes didn’t help the beleaguered company regain its strength in the market.
