Royal Jordanian (RJ) and MK Airlines have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop air freight services through Jordan and the eastern Mediterranean.
The two companies intend to cooperate to improve fleet utilisation by complementing each other's route networks and air freight handling equipment.
They will work on feeding the capacity of RJ's A310s and MK Airlines' B747s and B767s, optimising costs in particular for cargo handling.
They will also expand the agreement through block space agreements across various sectors.
MK stressed that the co-operation would be extended to produce handling, a particular area of expertise of the UKbased airline, including perishables such as flowers and fish from major markets in Africa.
MK's regional agent, Gulf European Development Company, signed the deal with RJ at the World Economic Forum on 17 May.
