She is an advocate of training and development that equips people with the right skills for today and which also focuses on the future needs of the logistics profession.
John Harvey
Chairman of Transport Charity Transaid and Keswick Enterprises
Keswick Enterprises is a UK-based active investor in supply chain and forwarding businesses with interests in the Balkans, Ukraine, and the Baltic. Formerly he was chairman of Tibbett & Britten Group and acquired or developed businesses and joint ventures across Europe, and around the world. Originally John was chairman of Unilever’s in-house UK logistics operations and its overseas associates. He is also vice president of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Robert Keen
Executive Director, British International Freight Association (BIFA).
As an executive director of the British International Freight Association (BIFA), Robert is responsible for training, membership matters and the legal and insurance issues that confront the forwarding sector. He is also responsible for regional representation and together with his area reports he covers all of the major UK ports providing local seminars and industry information.
He was a freight forwarder for 30 years based mainly at Heathrow for both small and large companies and moved to BIFA from the industry-owned software and IT representational company, Agency Sector Management (ASM), where he handled the Customs and IATA representation.
Andrew Traill
Director of Policy for the European Shippers’ Council and Founder of The Shippers’ Voice
After gaining a PhD evaluating the economic and technological aspects of shortsea and inland shipping, Andrew spent a brief spell with a shipping line before focusing on maritime, port and general freight transport policy within various trade associations. He spent 12 years with the UK Freight Transport Association, mostly representing the freight interests of British shippers. Andrew is the Founder of The Shippers’ Voice, a communication platform between shippers and the wider international freight community.
Larry Woelk

Born and educated in the US, Larry has spent almost all his career in Europe and held senior executive and board level positions with Airborne Express, BAX Global, John Menzies, LEP International and Pinkerton Security. He has run companies and divisions in supply chain security; logistics operations and communication; 4PL management; and freight audit and pay processes, and has gained extensive experience across the logistics industry, including air, ocean, road transport and courier/express, in domestic and international markets. Larry joined supply chain recruitment specialist George Henderson in 2007 to head up the international division. George Henderson merged with BiS last year.
Tony Berkley

Lord Berkeley is chairman of the Rail Freight Group (RFG), the representative body of the UK rail freight industry, and president of the European Rail Freight Association. His roles have included public affairs manager of Eurotunnel from 1981 until the end of construction of the Channel Tunnel in 1994. He has sat in the House of Lords from 1994 and was an opposition transport spokesperson from 1996-7. He is also an alternate member of the European Energy and Transport Forum.

Professor David Menachof

David Menachof is the Peter Thompson Chair of Port Logistics, based at the Logistics Institute at Hull University Business School. Prior to this, he was Senior Lecturer in Transport Economics, International Logistics and Distribution at Cass Business School. He has previously taught at the University of Charleston, South Carolina, and the University of Plymouth, England.
Susanna Patton

Susanna Patton is Managing Director at SCP Consultants, a consulting firm in Warehouse Management Systems design and implementation. Susanna began her career at the “trucks and sheds” end of the industry in general haulage and has retained an enthusiasm for warehouses and transport to this day. She has worked in a variety of international blue-chip and FMCG business as she gained a broad understanding of the supply chain industry, culminating in a nomination for Woman of the Year in logistics and transport 2009 (warehousing).
